Ingredients

  • 1 env. dry yeast
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tbsp. oil
  • Honey
  • 2 c. cooked oatmeal
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2-3 c. whole wheat flour

Directions

  1. Dissolve yeast in 1/3 c. hot water in large bowl. Stir in salt, oil, 1/4 c. honey, oatmeal and 2/3 c. hot water. Follow mixing instructions for Basic White Bread recipe, adding all-purpose flour first. Add in whole wheat flour for the second addition of flour. Proceed as instructed, using all-purpose flour for kneading. Brush warm loaves with additional honey. Cold.
