Ingredients
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 2 tbsp. syrup or possibly honey
- 4 tbsp. melted shortening
- 1/3 c. cornmeal
- 2/3 c. whole wheat flour
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
Directions
- Mix together first 4 ingredients. In a separate bowl, stir dry ingredients together. Add in to egg/lowfat milk mix and stir just sufficient to dampen flour. Bake on greased warm griddle. Makes 16.
