  1. Cook the lowfat milk, sugar, salt, and egg yolks over warm water till it forms a soft custard; stir while cooking with a fork. Cold. Whip the cream till almost stiff; mix in the custard and flavorings. Freeze till almost hard. Beat in chilled bowl till well blended. Return to tray and freeze till hard. Makes 1 qt.
