Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup blueberries (I used dried. fresh or frozen ones can be used too)
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 1 overripe banana, mashed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For topping - 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/8 cup maple or golden syrup and 1/2 cup boiling water
