Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 Large eggs
- 1 c. lard
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 to 6 c. flour
Directions
- Cream sugar, Large eggs, lard. Sift baking soda, baking pwdr and salt with 4 c. flour. Mix together to a soft dough adding more flour as needed. Roll out dough to 1/8 inch thick and cut with cookie cutters sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 300 degrees until done. This is a not too rich cookie which holds the shape it's cut in!
