  • 1 box butter cake mix
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1/3 c. oil
  • 1 c. A.P. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 stick butter, melted
  • 1 1/3 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. butter flavor
  • 1 tsp. clear vanilla
  • 2-3 tsp. butternut vanilla flavor
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 3 eggs
  • food color

Directions

  1. In large bowl, combine milk, oil, flavoring, sour cream, and butter.
  2. Mix until frothy.
  3. Add cake mix, flour, sugar, salt, and eggs. Mix well, leaving a few lumps.
  4. Separate batter evenly into smaller bowls.
  5. Color each bowl with desired color.
  6. Spoon one color at a time into prepared cupcake tin. ( do all red first, then green, etc.)
  7. Once all colors are used, take a toothpick or fork and swirl the colors together to create tye dye look ( over mixing will turn colors brown and cupcakes may cave after baking)
  8. Bake 330* 20-25 minutes until pricked clean
  9. For added dynamic, add sprinkles to the batter for a funfettie-esque appeal.
