Ingredients

  • 1 (8 ounce.) pkg. egg noodles
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 5 tbsp. flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt, optional
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 1/2 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 (8 ounce.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 can tuna in water, liquid removed
  • 1/4 c. pimento olives
  • 2 tbsp. chives
  • 1 (8 ounce.) pkg. sliced Muenster cheese
  • 1 1/2 c. soft bread crumbs

Directions

  1. Cook noodles according to directions and drain. Heat 5 Tbsp. butter in medium saucepan. Stir in flour, salt and pepper and cook stirring constantly till bubbling. Stir in lowfat milk and continue to cook and stir till sauce thickens and comes to a boil. Boil one minute. Slice cream cheese into the sauce and stir till it melts. Add in tuna, olive and chives.
  2. Remove from heat. Pour 3/4 of sauce into buttered baking dish. Then layer half of the noodles, half of the remaining sauce and 2 slices of cheese. Repeat, ending with cheese. Heat 3 Tbsp. butter and toss in bread crumbs. Sprinkle over mix. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 30 min.
