Ingredients

  • 1 x Egg
  •     Powdered sugar
  • 1 pch Baking soda
  • 1/4 ounce Rum
  •     Sugar to stiffen
  • 1 Tbsp. Above batter
  • 3 Tbsp. Warm lowfat milk
  • 1 1/2 ounce Rum
  •     Warm water
  • 1/2 ounce Brandy
  •     Nutmeg

Directions

  1. First prepare batter, using mixing bowl. Separate the yolk and white of 1 egg, beating each separately and thoroughly. Then combine both, adding sufficient superfine powdered sugar to stiffen. Add in to this 1 healthy pinch of baking soda and 1/4 ounce. rum to preserve the batter. Then add in a little more sugar to stiffen. To serve, use warm Tom and Jerry mug, using 1 Tbsp.. of above batter, dissolved in 3 Tbsp.. warm lowfat milk. Add in 1-1/2 ounce. of rum. Then fill mug to within 1/4 inch of top of mug and stir gently. Then top with 1/2 ounce. brandy and grate a little nutmeg on top. The secret of a Tom and Jerry is to have a stiff batter and a hot mug.
