Toffee Streusel Chocolate Donuts Recipe
I am a creature of habit, you guys.
Even when it comes to Christmas gifts apparently. In 2011 I bought my brother-in-law a toaster that puts the Chicago Bears logo on the toast. Hello, best sister-in-law EVER.
Then in 2012, I bought him the same thing.
Seriously. I just thought the toaster was such a good gift for him that I gave it to him twice. I’m so awesome. And forgetful. And probably kind of a bad gift giver.

Obviously we can’t talk coffee without donuts. I mean, the two just belong together.
I usually switch up the donut flavors from something ridiculous to something even more ridiculous each week, but the coffee pretty much stays the same…an iced caramel latte.
My latte was perfect with these chocolate donuts! They’re perfectly moist, soft baked donuts that get topped with a streusel that’s studded with toffee bits. You can’t go wrong with that combination, guys! Enjoy!

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 8 minutes
Total Time: 18 minutes
Ingredients:
For the donuts:
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 6 tablespoons sour cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- For the toffee streusel:
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup toffee bits
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a small bowl, beat together the vanilla, egg, sour cream, milk, and oil.
Stir the wet ingredients into the dry until just combined.
Spoon batter into a greased donut pan.
To make the streusel, cut together the flour, sugar, and butter until you have small, pea-sized balls of butter. Stir in the toffee bits.
Sprinkle the streusel over the tops of the donuts.
Bake for 8 minutes or until the tops spring back when you touch them.
Let the donuts cool in the pan until cool enough to handle.
