Toasted Hazelnut Frozen Yogurt

Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. Minced hazelnuts
  • 1 Tbsp. Packed brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Hazelnut liqueur
  • 1 pt Non-fat vanilla frzn yogurt, softened
  • 1/4 c. Chocolate syrup, optional

Directions

  1. Preparation Time: 25 min
  2. Yield: 2 c., 4 servings
  3. Toast hazelnuts over low heat in small, dry skillet, stirring constantly, till fragrant, about 5 min. Let cold.
  4. Grind nuts and brown sugar in small food processor or possibly blender, scraping down sides as necessary, till mix forms a paste. Place in large bowl; stir in liqueur.
  5. Add in frzn yogurt to bowl. Fold in nut paste using potato masher. Cover and freeze 15 min, or possibly till ready to serve.
  6. Scoop frzn yogurt into 4 serving dishes and top with chocolate syrup, if you like. Serve immediately.
