What better than a bowl of healthy dessert and celebrating your happiness for the hard work done. Considering the fact that the said feat is from one who, a couple of months back was even scared to touch the mighty mouse But as they say ‘The desire for knowledge increase with the acquisition of it’ and it proved to be true in my case.

The new venture for all the readers and bloggers, Tasty Bites is out and kicking. The journey was fun learning, adjusting and sacrificing many a things on the way.

Back to Basic: It was fun learning the simple paint and brush techniques from my 10 year old son, who obliged to give me training provided I let him play for extra one hour each day

Still the much advanced Photo shop and the likes remain a forbidden fruit to me. The desire to create my own logo for Tasty Bites using the paint on windows resulted in this simple and not so professional drawing;

Lite Bite on Face book

But the feeling of having created something, gives a great satisfaction. And every time that I look at the logo I feel good for myself.

Ingredients;

(Makes 2 servings)

Method: Wash the green gram (moong dal dhuli) and dry it on a kitchen towel. Heat a heavy bottom kadai or wok and dry fry the green gram till it turn light brown in color.

Take off the green gram from the wok and pour 1 cup of water in it and let it boil. Add the fried green gram in water and let it cook till it becomes tender.

Pour 1/2 ltr of milk in it and let it cook for another 15-20 minutes till the kheer becomes thick, add cardamom powder in it.

Crush the jaggery to make powder and add it in the wok. Let the mixture cook for another 5-7 minutes. Put off the flame and transfer the prepared kheer in another vessel.

Heat ghee in a small skillet and add crushed almonds in it, fry it for a few seconds. Pour this over the green gram kheer.

A delicious and healthy Green Gram dessert is ready to serve. Hope you like your new place Tasty Bites. Stay connected for more of such healthy treats. Take care.
