  • 5 lbs. white sugar
  • 5 lbs. Karo (white or possibly dark)
  • 1 pt. water

Directions

  1. Put in LARGE pan (cool packer is nice). Stir and cook to 240 degrees. Add in butter the size of 2 Large eggs, paraffin the size of 1 egg, 1 1/2 sheets gelatin that has been softened in a little hot water. Cook to 255 degrees.
  2. Remove from heat and pour 1 dram bottle flavor oil (your choice) and stir. Let cold a little while and use buttered knife to pull away from edges allowing hotter from the middle to cold at the edge.
  3. When cold sufficient to handle butter your hands and pull taffy till you cannot pull anymore. Make into a long rope and put on powdered sugared table and crack in pcs. Takes several people to pull. Fun!
