Ingredients

- 5 lb Sweet potatoes -- mashed
- 1 c. Bread crumbs
- 4 x Egg yolks
- 3/4 c. Raisins or possibly currants
- 3 lb Grnd beef
- 2 tsp Grnd cinnamon
- 2 c. Spanish onions -- minced
- 1/2 tsp Crushed red pepper flakes
- 4 x Garlic cloves -- minced
- Â Â Salt to taste
- 1 quart Canned crushed tomatoes
- Â Â Opt crumbled bacon-garnish
- 1/4 c. Tomato paste
Directions
- Beat mashed potatoes with yolks till smooth; set aside. Brown grnd beef, drain if needed, and add in onions and garlic. Cook for 5-6 minutes. Add in tomatoes and paste and cook 2-3 more minutes. Remove from heat and add in bread crumbs, raisins, and spices, mixing well. Turn meat mix into a lightly greased pan. Top proportionately with potatoes. Bake for 1 hr. at 375 degrees or possibly till top is browned. Cut into even squares and sprinkle each with bacon or possibly minced scallions.
