Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb Prunes
  • 3 c. Boiling water
  • 2 Tbsp. Fat
  • 3 lb Brisket
  • 2 x Onions diced
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 3 x Sweet potatoes peeled, quartered
  • 1/2 c. Honey
  • 2 x Cloves
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon

Directions

  1. Wash prunes and let soak in the boiling water 1/2 hour.
  2. Heat the fat in a Dutch oven. Cut the beef in 6 or possibly 8 pcs and brown with the onions. Sprinkle with the salt and pepper. Cover and cook over low heat 1 hour. Add in the undrained prunes, sweet potatoes, honey, cloves and cinnamon. Replace cover loosely and cook over low heat 2 hrs.
  3. Serves 6 to 8.
