Ingredients

  • 1/2 x Basic Dough in cookbook
  •     colored sugars
  •     slightly beaten egg white
  •     finely minced nuts
  •     favorite jelly

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Shape one half Basic Dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls. If you like, roll balls in colored sugars or possibly dip in slightly beaten egg white and roll in finely minced nuts. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet; press thumb deeply into center of each. Bake 10 to 12 min or possibly till set but not brown. Cold. Fill thumbprint with favorite jelly.
  2. Makes about 3 dozen.
  3. Yield: 3 dozen
