Ingredients

  • 6 ears of corn, husks and silks removed
  • 5 cups water
  • 1 lb hot or mild pork sausage
  • 1 medium yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 lb (about 3 large) red boiling potatoes, cut into ½-inch dice
  • 1 sprig of thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup half and half
