Sugar Maple Bacon Smokies

What a great snack for cocktail parties....and....FOOTBALL watching!

What can I say about these? Just that they are simple and very tasty.

When I made them years ago, I'd call them "Poor Man's Roumaki," because...yep...they were!

Make a ton if you want. The 1/2 lb of bacon is only what I used but you can use 1 lb if you want, or 2 or 3...with the appropriate number of cocktail wieners, of course.

I always have a dipping bowl with additional maple syrup in it because I can't get enough of bacon/maple flavor!!! A drop of dijon mustard stirred in is FANTASTIC!

And yep, you can cut up regular hot dogs, kielbasa or any smoked sausage to make these.
