  • 1 lb fresh green beans
  • 2 1/2 c. water
  • 2 tsp corn oil
  • 2 x reduced-sodium beef bouillon cubes
  • 1/4 c. finely-diced onion
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Directions

  1. Remove strings from green beans, then break beans into bite-sized pcs. Wash beans and place in 2-qt pan. Add in water, oil, bouillon cubes, and onion. Bring to a simmer.
  2. Cove and cook for 30 min or possibly till beans are tender when pierced with a fork; stir periodically. Add in salt, stir, and continue cooking an additional 60 min most of the liquid should evaporate, and the beans should be very tender.
  3. This recipe yields 6 servings.
