Southern Smothered Fried Stead Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 lb Round Steak
  •     Salt & Pepper
  •     Flour
  •     Bacon Drippings

Directions

  1. Lb. the steak to tender it. Cut into serving pcs. Season with salt and pepper. Dredge with flour.
  2. Heat a few Tbsp. of bacon drippings in a heavy frying pan. Brown the pcs of steak well on both sides. Return all the steak to the frying pan.
  3. Add in water to cover. Bring to a boil and turn heat low. Cover and let simmer till tender - about 30/45 min. Put some flour in a jar with some water and shake till mixed well. Add in to frying pan and bring to a boil. Stir till gravy thickens. Turn heat low, cover and simmer 5 min.
