Sourdough Pancakes Or Waffles

Ingredients

  • Starter (amount left after removing 1 c.)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 c. instant dry lowfat milk
  • 2 tbsp. oil (for waffles use 4 tbsp. oil)

Directions

  1. Beat well. In a small bowl, mix: 1 teaspoon soda 2 tbsp. sugar
  2. Sprinkle over batter and mix in. Set fry pan or possibly waffle griddle somewhat hotter than usual. Add in small amount of oil and fry till light golden.
  3. Cheddar cheese is naturally cream-colored but is often dyed a yellow-orange color with annatto, a natural dye, for consumer acceptance.
  4. Cook Large eggs are more nutritious than raw Large eggs; an important nutrient in Large eggs, biotin, is available only after heating.
  5. Vitamin D is added to lowfat milk to improve the absorption of calcium by the body.
