Directions

  1. Combine shortening, sugar, egg and molasses; mix well. Sift together dry ingredients and add in alternately with water, stirring till smooth. Drop by teaspoonfuls on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake in a 400 degree oven for 8-10 min. Cold on racks then frost with lemon glaze.
