Smoked Turkey

Ingredients

  • 3 quart. water
  • 1 c. Morton Tender Quick
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1/2 c. reg. salt
  • 1 tbsp. liquid smoke for every pound of turkey (takes at least one 4 oz bottle)

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients together in large container. Poke turkey with meat fork to make holes. Soak turkey in solution 12 to 14 hrs (up to 24 hrs). If turkey isn't completely covered with solution be sure to turn it several times.
  2. Drain well. Bake turkey at 350 degrees for 15 min for every lb. of turkey or possibly a little longer. Not too long or possibly it will dry out. Bake uncovered.
