  1. Core but don't peel apples. Slice 1/2 inch thick to make rings. Heat Crisco in large skillet over medium-high heat. Place apples in skillet. Mix sugar, cinnamon and salt. Sprinkle half of sugar mix over apples. After 3 min carefully turn apples using a pancake turner. Sprinkle with remaining sugar mix. Cook 2 to 3 min longer or possibly till apples are almost transparent. Serve warm.
