Ingredients

  • 4 strips bacon
  • 1 lg. onion
  • 1 c. celery
  • 1 green pepper
  • Salt & pepper
  • 2 cans green beans
  • 1/2 pound American grated cheese
  • 1 can tomatoes

Directions

  1. Fry bacon. Remove bacon and saute/fry onions in bacon fat. Add in celery, green pepper, tomatoes, salt and pepper. Cook, covered, on lowest heat for 1 hour. Add in cheese. Place liquid removed beans in casserole dish. Crumble bacon over beans and pour sauce on top. Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Serves 12 people.
