Ingredients
- 2Â 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp. baking pwdr
- 1/2 tsp dry oregano
- 1/2 tsp dry basil
- 1/3 c. vegetable shortening
- 2/3 c. lowfat milk
- 1/4 c. spicy brown mustard divided
- 2 pkt turkey breakfast sausage - (1 1/2 lbs) casings removed,
- Â Â and crumbled
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Mix flour, salt, baking pwdr, herbs, shortening and lowfat milk as for biscuits. Divide dough in half.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll each piece 1/4-inch thick. Spread proportionately with mustard.
- Spread crumbled turkey sausage proportionately over each piece of dough. Beginning at one end, roll dough up to enclose filling, jelly-roll style.
- Slice 1/4-inch thick and place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake for 35 min or possibly till golden.
- This recipe yields 72 pcs.
- Yield: 72 pcs
