Sausages With Fried Apples

Ingredients

  • 1 pound sausages
  • 4 to 5 slices bacon
  • 6 to 8 red apples
  • Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

  1. Fry the sausages slowly till done and set aside. Where they will keep warm. Dice the bacon, and cook it lightly, not crisp, in another large skillet. Core the apples and dice them, including the red skins. Add in to the bacon, sweetening the apples to taste with brown sugar and stirring in the cinnamon.
  2. Cover and cook slowly for about 20 min. Remove the cover and brown the apples, turning them constantly to prevent sticking for 10 to 15 min. Serve on a warm platter, surrounded by the warm sausages. Serves 4.
