Ingredients

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1¼ cups unsalted butter, cubed and chilled
  • ¼ to ⅓ cup ice water
  • For the Pie Filing:
  • ½ recipe Salted Caramel Sauce
  • 5 tart-crisp apples, peeled, cored and sliced ⅛-inch thick (I used a mix of Granny Smith, Fuji and Honeycrisp)
  • ¾ cup lemon juice
  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground allspice
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • For the Egg Wash Topping:
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten with a fork
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
