Sago't Gulaman Recipe

A refreshing sweet native Filipino drink that everyone enjoys! Try it.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 cups water
  • boiled sago
  • cooked gulaman (cubed)
  • crushed ice

Directions

  1. Caramelized sugar in a saucepan. When melted, pour in the water.
  2. Continue cooking until the sugar is completely dissolved. Cool completely.
  3. Add some of the cooled arnibal (sugar mixture) or syrup to the sago to sweeten it.
  4. In a glass, put some sago and gulaman. Add enough arnibal to sweeten. Fill with ice or add ice-cold water.
  5. If you bought raw sagot, this is how to Cook sago:
  6. Boil water in a saucepan. Add in uncooked sago.
  7. Stir to prevent sticking.
  8. Cook until translucent all over.
  9. Drain then rinse with cold/tap water
