Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Line 9-inch square baking pan with foil, allowing foil to extend over sides. Butter foil. Mix oats, raisins, pecans and cardamom in bowl. Combine butter, sugar and honey in medium saucepan. Stir over medium heat till butter melts and mix is smooth and begins to boil. Pour butter mix over oat mix and stir till well coated.
  2. Transfer to prepared pan. Using spatula, press mix proportionately into pan.
  3. Bake oat mix till top is golden, about 30 min. Transfer to rack and cold. Using foil as aid, lift out of pan; place on work surface.
  4. Using large sharp knife, cut into 18 bars.
  5. Makes 18.
