Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb Grnd beef
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 dsh Pepper
  • 1 can (8 ounce.) tomato sauce
  • 1 med Carrot, sliced
  • 1 can (2 ounce.) mushroom stems and pcs
  • 2 Tbsp. Minced onion
  • 2 Tbsp. Sliced pimento stuffed olives
  • 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Water
  • 1/4 c. Dry red wine
  •     Grated parmesan cheese, optional

Directions

  1. In saucepan cook grnd beef until browned; drain off fat. Stir in salt and pepper. Add in tomato sauce, carrot, mushrooms, onion, olives, and sugar. Stir in water and wine. Cover; simmer for 30-35 min or possibly until carrot is tender, stirring occasionally. Sprinkle individual servings with parmesan cheese, if you like.
  2. Makes 2 servings.
