This is a baked bean dish that is sweetened with maple syrup only. No ketchup or processed sugar.
Ingredients
- 2 cans white beans
- 1 Tb. olive oil
- 1/4 C. chopped onion
- 2 strips bacon, diced
- 1 C. tomato sauce
- 1 tsp. apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 C. maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 Tb. mustard
- 1/2 tsp. Seasoning Salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
Directions
- Turn oven to 350°.
- Drain and rinse beans well. Pour into small casserole dish and set aside.
- Heat oil in pan and sauté onions and bacon until onions begin to become translucent. Stir gently into beans.
- Mix remaining ingredients together. Add to beans and bake for 30 minutes, covered. Remove cover and stir beans then bake for another 20 minutes with the lid off. Serve hot.
