Ingredients

  • 2 C Milk
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 1 slice lemon rind
  • 6 Eggs
  • 1 C Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp sweet liquor (Kahlua, apricot brandy, etc)
  • 1 Can Fruit Cocktail drained
  • Sliced pound cake, or lady fingers, or panetela to cover cake mold

Directions

  1. Boil Milk, Cinnamon stick, lemon rind. Let cool.
  2. Beat eggs with sugar, vanilla, salt and liquor.
  3. Add to milk (cinnamon stick and rind removed) and mix well.
  4. Place mixture into caramelized Flan mold.
  5. Add fruit cocktail to top of mixture
  6. Cover with slices of pound cake, etc.
  7. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees.
  8. Let cool one hour in refrigerator and remove from mold.
  9. Caramelizing cake mold.
  10. 1 Cup sugar
  11. 1 Cup water
  12. Place sugar and water in a pot stir and heat until mixture caramelizes.

    Yes, you carmelize the mold, that gives the pudin the nice brown topping when you invert it on the cake dish.
