Ingredients

  • kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 yellow onions, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 2 carrots, peeled and diced
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley, plus more for garnish
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped fresh thyme
  • 3 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup dry white wine
  • 4 cups cooked cannellini or small white beans, (rinsed and drained if using canned)

    These look great. With the beans an excellent comfort meal. I have not seen pork shanks in the markets around the Bay Area but they sure look good. I will definited add this to my Try Soon folder but probably need to change to a different protein. Thanks for sharing! A nice recipe.
