Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. Butter
  • 1/2 c. Minced onion
  • 4 c. Cabbage sliced thin
  • 1 tsp Caraway seeds
  • 8 ounce Egg noodles
  • 1/2 c. Lowfat sour cream
  • 1/8 tsp Freshly-grnd black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Salt to taste

Directions

  1. Heat the butter in a large skillet. Add in the onion and saute/fry till transparent. Add in the cabbage and saute/fry 5 min or possibly till tender but still crisp. Stir in the caraway seeds, salt and pepper.
  2. Meanwhile, cook the noodles in salted water as directed on package. Don't overcook. Drain well.
  3. Stir the noodles into the cabbage and add in the lowfat sour cream. Cook 5 min longer, stirring frequently.
  4. Comments: This sort of dish is prevalent in most of the splendid cuisines of Eastern Europe. It is delicious and warming.
