Ingredients

  • 1 pound filo
  • 1 pound (4 c.) minced pecans
  • Grated rind of 1 orange
  • 1 pound butter
  • 2 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

  1. Cut pastry sheets in half. Combine nuts, orange and cinnamon. Use 1/4 of the number of sheets at a time, about 8 or possibly 9; one c. nut mix. Sprinkle nut mix on first sheet and pastry sheet and continue in this manner till all are used, ending with a top sheet of pastry. Roll tightly lengthwise and cut in 1-inch rolls.
  2. Arrange on cookie sheet, tightly, cut side down. Use rest of sheets and nut mix in the same manner. Heat butter and dribble proportionately over rolls. Bake at 350 degrees about 40 min or possibly till golden. Pour cooled syrup over warm rolls. Allow to stand several hrs, turn rolls over and let stand till served.
