Pepper Chicken Recipe

A chicken dish,eaten as a main course. it can be had with bread of your choice,nan or parathsa.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Grind together onion,garlic,ginger
  2. Place the chicken pieces in the pressure cooker along with ground onion paste.
  3. Add red chilli powder, salt, 1/2 glass water and pressure cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Allow the pressure to drop by itself.
  5. Remove the chicken pieces from the pressure cooker, and fry few a pieces, at a time in butter.
  6. Place all the chicken pieces back into the frying pan.
  7. Add yoghurt and cook on a medium flame until all the liquid evaporates.
  8. Also cook all the remaining masala in the pressure cooker until almost dry.
  9. Now add masala to the chicken.
  10. Fry the chicken for 5 minutes.
  11. Now add black pepper and lemon juice.
  12. Check seasoning and place on seving plate.
  13. Granish with coriander leaves

    This looks really great! I have a couple of questions. When you say "cook all the remaining masala in the pressure cooker until almost dry", are you refering to the ground onion paste remaining in the pressure cooker after you have removed the chicken pieces? So you take out the chicken, but leave in the paste and keep pressure cooking? Also, when you say "fry a few pieces at a time in butter", roughly how long should they be fried? Just until browned a little on the surface? Thanks...I look forward to trying this!
