%20who%20overcame%20a%20mess%20of%20obstacles%20in%20pursuit%20of%20her%20dream.%20With%20her%20quirky%20presence,%20perky%20personality%20and%20%22everyone's%20favorite%20neighborhood%20mom%22%20demeanor,%20you%20can't%20help%20but%20be%20drawn%20in%20and,%20on%20some%20level,%20want%20to%20be%20a%20part%20of%20it%20all.%20%20I%20want%20to%20be%20a%20part%20of%20it,%20too!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20have%20been%20drawn%20to%20the%20kitchen%20and%20cooking%20for%20as%20far%20back%20as%20I%20can%20remember.%20%20One%20of%20my%20very%20earliest%20culinary%20related%20memories%20goes%20back%20to%20when%20I%20was%20about%207%20years%20old.%20I%20can%20still%20recall%20the%20feeling%20of%20wanting%20so%20badly%20to%20emulate%20my%20mom%20in%20the%20kitchen%20and%20be%20given%20the%20chance%20to%20prepare%20a%20meal%20for%20my%20parents%20from%20start%20to%20finish.%20%20I%20vividly%20remember%20scouring%20the%20collection%20of%20cook%20books%20my%20mom%20had%20en%20massed%20for%20recipes%20I%20could%20actually%20prepare.%20%20While%20I%20can't%20claim%20to%20recall%20what%20I%20ended%20up%20making%20or%20if%20it%20was%20good%20(or%20even%20edible,%20for%20that%20matter)!%20%20What%20made%20me%20fall%20madly%20in%20love%20with%20cooking%20and%20the%20kitchen%20was%20the%20joy%20I%20felt%20knowing%20I%20could%20let%20my%20imagination%20soar%20and%20create%20with%20no%20boundaries.%20%20What%20has%20made%20this%20a%20lifelong%20affair%20is%20the%20euphoric%20feeling%20that%20envelopes%20me%20while%20feeding%20friends,%20family%20and%20loved%20ones%20and%20the%20satisfaction%20of%20giving%20something%20of%20yourself%20to%20other%20people.%20%20Oh,%20I%20also%20really%20love%20to%20eat.%20%20Not%20just%20eat%20anything,%20though.%20%20Good%20food.%20%20Good%20food%20prepared%20from%20fresh%20and%20healthful%20ingredients.%20%20Good%20food%20prepared%20from%20fresh,%20healthful%20ingredients%20in%20a%20pretty%20standard%20kitchen%20and%20on%20a%20single%20lady's%20(after%2040%20you%20really%20can't%20get%20away%20with%20calling%20yourself%20a%20girl%20anymore...lady%20sounds%20better%20anyway)%20budget.%20%20Good%20food%20prepared%20from%20fresh,%20healthful%20ingredients%20in%20a%20pretty%20standard%20kitchen,%20on%20a%20single%20lady's%20budget%20and%20in%20a%20reasonable%20amount%20of%20time%20after%20you%20get%20home%20from%20a%20long%20day%20at%20work.%20(For%20me%20that's%20as%20an%20emerging%20real%20estate%20mogul...of%20sorts).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOk,%20so%20that's%20not%20asking%20too%20much,%20is%20it?%20%22Certainly%20not%22,%20I%20said%20to%20anyone%20who%20would%20listen!%20It%20is%20possible%20to%20come%20home%20from%20work%20and%20prepare%20a%20delicious,%20healthful,%20easy%20meal%20in%20a%20reasonable%20amount%20of%20time%20if%20you%20know%20how%20to%20use%20your%20kitchen%20sensibly.%20%20If%20you%20do%20all%20that%20while%20sticking%20to%20the%20budget,%20you%20have%20Kitchen%20Centsability!%20And%20there%20it%20started.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAt%20the%20time,%20I%20thought%20it%20a%20magnificent%20idea%20to%20prove%20my%20theory%20that%20one%20could,%20in%20fact,%20prepare%20a%20delicious,%20healthful,%20easy%20meal%20without%20fancy%20commercial%20kitchen%20equipment,%20hours%20of%20preparation%20and%20while%20still%20maintaining%20a%20budget.%20What%20better%20way%20to%20prove%20it%20than%20to%20just%20do%20it?%20So,%20I%20did.%20%20I%20promptly%20went%20about%20writing%20a%20blog%20entry%20every%20single%20day%20for%20one%20year%20which%20chronicled%20what%20I%20had%20for%20dinner.%20%20No%20magic,%20no%20smoke%20and%20mirrors%20and%20no%20tricks.%20%20Successes,%20flops%20and%20failures.%20%20Each%20and%20every%20meal.%20%20They%20all%20got%20marquee%20billing,%20a%20close-up%20photograph,%20and%20their%20very%20own%20recipe.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESince%20completing%20the%20project,%20three%20posts%20have%20clearly%20emerged%20as%20the%20most%20viewed.%20%20Not%20surprisingly%20a%20simple%20whole%20roasted%20chicken%20was%20the%20clear%20favorite%20followed%20by%20my%20Nan's%20(my%20mom)%20pulled%20pork%20sandwich%20and%20my%20recipe%20remake%20of%20Bonefish%20Grill's%20Bang-Bang%20Shrimp.%20%20Take%20a%20look!%20%20I%20have%20included%20them%20below.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESimple%20Oven%20Roasted%20Whole%20Chicken%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E(November%2011,%202010)%20In%20my%20opinion,%20there%20are%20few%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethings%20more%20delicious%20than%20a%20simple,%20but%20flavorful,%20oven%20roasted%20chicken.%20I%20had%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ebeen%20day%20dreaming%20about%20this%20chicken%20all%20day%20long,%20knowing%20it%20was%20in%20the%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Erefrigerator%20just%20across%20the%20room%20waiting%20for%20me%20to%20escort%20it%20home%20and%20roast%20it%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Euntil%20it%20is%20the%20envy%20of%20all%20other%20roasted%20chickens.%20The%20moist,%20tender,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eflavorful%20meat%20and%20the%20crispy,%20salty%20skin%20is%20utterly%20fabulous%20as%20is%20but%20it%20is%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ealso%20a%20great%20base%20ingredient%20for%20a%20multitud
