Orange cake with olive oil and vanilla butter glaze

Ingredients

  • All purpose flour-1 cup
  • Walnuts-1\2 cup(chopped, I forgot to add walnuts , but strongly suggest the addition:)
  • Cornstarch-1\4 cup
  • Olive oil-4 tbsp
  • Baking soda-1\2 tsp
  • Baking powder-2 tsp
  • Orange juice-3\4 cup
  • Egg-1
  • Salt-1\4 tsp
  • Sugar-1\2 cup
  • Yogurt-1\4 cup
  • Orange zest-1 tbsp
  • For the glaze
  • Butter-1 tbsp
  • Confectioner's sugar-4 tbsp
  • Milk- 1tbsp
  • Vanilla extract-1\2 tsp

Directions

  1. Pre heat the oven to 375 degrees
  2. Grease and dust a loaf pan
  3. Mix all the dry ingredients together
  4. In a pan, add butter and sugar and beat till a smooth batter is formed
  5. Add oil, yogurt and beat for one more minute
  6. Add orange juice and zest
  7. Add the dry ingredients into the mixture
  8. Pour the batter in the pan and bake for 30-35minutes
  9. Let it cool in the pan for 5 minutes and then transfer to the cooling rack
  10. For the butter glaze
  11. Melt the butter and mix all the ingredients to form a smooth mixture
  12. Pour over the cooled cake
