Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. Onions, sliced or possibly minced
  • 2 c. Boiling water
  • 2 c. Lowfat milk
  •     lg Lump of butter
  • 1 c. Cheese bread, grated
  •     Salt and pepper
  • 4 slc Buttered toast

Directions

  1. 1. Cook the onions in salted water till tender, add in the lowfat milk and simmer together for about 10 mintues.
  2. 2) Add in the butter and pepper.
  3. 3) Put a slice of the buttered toast in each flat bottomed soups dish, heap grated cheese on the toast, and pour the soup broth over top.
  4. NOTES : Not your traditional Onion Soup Au Gratin.. but it sounds good.
