Ingredients
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 x Large eggs
- 3/4 x to 1 c. shortening
- 2 c. dry quick oatmeal and
- 1/2 c. lowfat sour cream
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 x scant teaspoon cloves
Directions
- Mix well and add in about 1 1/4 c. more flour to make a cookie like dough. Add in 1 c. raisins. Drop by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake in moderate oven 350 to 370 degrees about 10-15 min, depending on size of cookies.
- This cookie recipe used to be made and then sent to the battlefield in France during World War I. (later they were sent to kids away at camp.)
