  • 1/2 c. Veg. oil
  • 1/2 c. Lowfat milk pwdr
  • 1/2 c. Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Cocoa pwdr
  • 1 3/4 c. Water
  • 8 slc Sandwich bread, torn into bite-size piece
  • 4 Tbsp. Lowfat milk pwdr
  • 3 Tbsp. Flour
  • 3 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Cocoa pwdr
  • 1 c. Water

Directions

  1. STOJANKA HODZIC'S NO-BAKE CHOCOLATE WAR CAKE (1994 Bosnia)
  2. Place veg. oil, lowfat milk pwdr, sugar and cocoa pwdr in large saucepan and stir to combine. Add in water and place mix over medium heat, stirring constantly till blended.
  3. Gradually add in bread pcs till mix forms single piece. Spread mix in 1 (8x5 1/2-inch, 1 1/2 c.-capacity) oval gratin dish and let cold.
  4. Spread War Cake Icing on cooled cake and serve.
  5. Makes 8 servings.
  6. War Cake Icing: Place lowfat milk pwdr, flour, sugar, cocoa pwdr and water in saucepan. Cook over medium heat till ingredients form frosting-like consistency. Let cold before spreading on cake.
