Ingredients
- 1/2 c. Veg. oil
- 1/2 c. Lowfat milk pwdr
- 1/2 c. Sugar
- 1/2 c. Cocoa pwdr
- 1Â 3/4 c. Water
- 8 slc Sandwich bread, torn into bite-size piece
- 4 Tbsp. Lowfat milk pwdr
- 3 Tbsp. Flour
- 3 Tbsp. Sugar
- 1 Tbsp. Cocoa pwdr
- 1 c. Water
Directions
- STOJANKA HODZIC'S NO-BAKE CHOCOLATE WAR CAKE (1994 Bosnia)
- Place veg. oil, lowfat milk pwdr, sugar and cocoa pwdr in large saucepan and stir to combine. Add in water and place mix over medium heat, stirring constantly till blended.
- Gradually add in bread pcs till mix forms single piece. Spread mix in 1 (8x5 1/2-inch, 1 1/2 c.-capacity) oval gratin dish and let cold.
- Spread War Cake Icing on cooled cake and serve.
- Makes 8 servings.
- War Cake Icing: Place lowfat milk pwdr, flour, sugar, cocoa pwdr and water in saucepan. Cook over medium heat till ingredients form frosting-like consistency. Let cold before spreading on cake.
