A couple of days ago I was very pleasantly surprised by courier. Well, to be honest, my first reaction wasn’t very delighted as I was just taking shower when I heard the doorbell ring. I was wondering who dares to disturb me in this very moment. Luckily my husband was at home and he could open the door and check who was there.
After I came from the bathroom, my husband said: “You have some parcels waiting”. I often order things online, so I couldn’t guess which of my orders had arrived. My surprise was even bigger when I noticed what the parcels contained: cute-looking boxes of Natvia sweetener.

:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENatvia%20for%20Icing%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20opened%20another%20box.%20That%20baby%20blue%20package%20contained%20sweetener%20for%20icing/frosting%20purposes.%20There%20was%20no%20caramel%20odor%20and%20the%20texture%20was%20more%20powdery%20than%20the%20previous%20sweetener%20I%20tested.%20Actually,%20the%20powder%20was%20extremely%20fine,%20just%20like%20dust.%20Well,%20most%20probably%20it%20would%20spread%20on%20my%20table%20and%20floor%20while%20using%20it,%20so%20it%20might%20be%20a%20good%20idea%20to%20fold%20it%20in%20the%20frosting%20first%20with%20a%20spatula%20or%20then%20use%20the%20lowest%20speed%20of%20the%20mixer.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EExcitedly%20I%20tasted%20the%20sweetener.%20Absolutely%20no%20caramel%20odor%20or%20taste,%20but%20a%20slight%20cooling%20effect,%20however%20fortunately%20only%20very%20slight%20effect.%20Sweetness%20was%20just%20right%20and%20what%20was%20the%20most%20important%20thing,%20there%20was%20enough%20sweetness.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20compared%20Natvia%20with%20two%20other%20powdered%20erythritol-based%20sweetener%20brands%20which%20I%20had%20at%20hand.%20The%20first%20one%20%E2%80%94%20my%20current%20favorite%20%E2%80%94%20gave%20the%20same%20amount%20of%20sweetness,%20but%20there%20was%20somewhat%20dull%20aftertaste.%20I%20would%20expect%20that%20oligosaccharides%20were%20responsible%20for%20that.%20The%20other%20brand%20wasn%E2%80%99t%20just%20that%20sweet%20and%20it%20felt%20gritty%20on%20my%20tongue.%20Moreover,%20the%20third%20sweetener%20had%20quite%20strong%20cooling%20effect.%20In%20my%20opinion,%20Natvia%20was%20the%20winner%20of%20these%20three.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBy%20the%20way,%20to%20my%20understanding%20this%20Natvia%20for%20Icing%20is%20not%20sold%20in%20the%20US,%20only%20in%20the%20UK%20and%20Australia.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt%E2%80%99s%20very%20fine%20powder%E2%80%A6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGranular%20Natvia%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20addition%20to%20the%20two%20pastel-colored%20big%20packages%20there%20was%20a%20smaller%20container%20of%20granular%20Natvia.%20The%20granules%20weren%E2%80%99t%20that%20hard%20and%20crystal-like%20than%20those%20of%20pure%20erythritol%20crystals%20but%20anyway%20crunchy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20I%20tasted%20the%20sweetener%20I%20felt%20gentle%20sweetness%20lingering%20on%20my%20tongue.%20There%20was%20almost%20no%20aftertaste,%20about%20which%20I%20was%20very%20pleased.%20All%20in%20all,%20I%20was%20very%20happy%20with%20this%20sweetener%20as%20well,%20it%20would%20make%20a%20great%20%E2%80%9Csugar%E2%80%9D%20coating%20for%20example%20for%20donuts%20and%20it%20would%20be%20a%20perfect%20table%20sweetener.%20The%20only%20drawback%20was%20the%20small%20size%20of%20the%20container.%20I%20bet%20that%20would%20make%20the%20sweetener%20quite%20costly%20to%20use.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EConclusion%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20a%20conclusion,%20I%20was%20very%20delighted%20about%20the%20taste%20and%20quality%20of%20Natvia.%20However,%20as%20I%E2%80%99m%20used%20to%20erythritol-based%20sweeteners%20I%20might%20overlook%20the%20cooling%20effect%20which%20indeed%20could%20disturb%20some%20people.%20Also%20the%20strong%20caramel%20odor%20in%20Natvia%20for%20Baking%20might%20turn%20some%20people%20off,%20however%20I%20personally%20consider%20the%20smell%20very%20pleasant.%20I%20didn%E2%80%99t%20do%20any%20price%20comparison%20between%20different%20sweeteners,%20but%20to%20my%20understanding,%20Natvia%20is%20more%20or%20less%20in%20the%20same%20price%20range%20than%20other%20powdered%20erythritol-based%20sweeteners.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENaturally,%20I%20had%20to%20test%20how%20Natvia%20sweeteners%20work%20in%20practice.%20Check%20out%20my%20scrumptious%20fluffy%20muffin%20recipe%20with%20Natvia%20for%20Baking,%20and%20the%20luscious%20butter%20frosting%20recipe%20with%20Natvia%20for%20Icing!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20what%20you%20get%20when%20you%20combine%20them%E2%80%A6%20mmmmh!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
