We hit the nine month mark – muwahaha!
This month has really marked a turning point in both Lincoln’s and my life. Lincoln is turning into a full-fledged boy. A BOY! From the way he now guffaws instead of giggles, to his hands turning into giant bear paws, I am truly seeing a baby morph into a little boy before my very eyes. What.
This month has also been the first month where I feel like life has returned back to normal (well, “baby normal.”) We dropped Lincoln’s third nap so we’re down to two naps, the first one around 9:30am and the second around 2:30pm – both usually around an hour to an hour and a half long, though he occasionally likes to sneak in one of his patented 42 minute naps. %20We%20dropped%20Lincoln%E2%80%99s%20third%20nap%20so%20we%E2%80%99re%20down%20to%20two%20naps,%20the%20first%20one%20around%209:30am%20and%20the%20second%20around%202:30pm%20%E2%80%93%20both%20usually%20around%20an%20hour%20to%20an%20hour%20and%20a%20half%20long,%20though%20he%20occasionally%20likes%20to%20sneak%20in%20one%20of%20his%20patented%2042%20minute%20naps.%20This%20has%20given%20us%20so%20much%20freedom%20I%20can%E2%80%99t%20even%20TELL%20you!%20Long%20walks,%20errands%20without%20fear,%20and%20life%20on%20the%20go%20makes%20for%20a%20happy%20family%20indeed.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECan%20we%20talk%20about%20baby%20kisses?%20How%20they%20want%20to%20make%20me%20shrivel%20up%20into%20a%20ball%20and%20cry%20they%E2%80%99re%20so%20amazing??%20Whenever%20Lincoln%20is%20feeling%20particularly%20sweet%20he%E2%80%99ll%20turn%20to%20me,%20open%20his%20mouth%20as%20wide%20as%20it%20will%20go,%20and%20lean%20in.%20I%20can%E2%80%99t%20even.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20has%20been%20the%20view%20du%20jour%20over%20the%20past%20couple%20of%20weeks%20since%20Lincoln%20learned%20to%20crawl.%20It%E2%80%99s%20amazing%20how%20quickly%20they%20pick%20up%20speed%20after%20getting%20the%20coordination%20between%20hands%20and%20feet%20down.%20I%E2%80%99ve%20got%20to%20watch%20that%20boy%20like%20a%20hawk%20now!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAny%20other%20parents%20out%20there%20have%20trouble%20falling%20asleep%20at%20night%20because%20the%20tunes%20of%20your%20kids%E2%80%99%20toys%20keep%20playing%20over%20and%20over%20(and%20over%20and%20over!)%20in%20your%20head?!%201%E2%80%A62%E2%80%A63%20c%E2%80%99mon%20and%20count%20with%20me,%204%E2%80%A65%E2%80%A66%20that%E2%80%99s%20the%20way%20you%20do%20it!%207%E2%80%A68%E2%80%A69%20oh%20you%E2%80%99re%20doin%E2%80%99%20fine,%2010.%2010!%20You%20can%20count%20to%2010!%20I%20wonder%20if%20the%20same%20thing%20happens%20to%20babies%E2%80%A6%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EApparently%20not.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIs%20it%20weird%20that%20I%20still%20miss%20our%20labor%20and%20delivery%20nurses%209%20months%20after%20giving%20birth?%20There%E2%80%99s%20something%20about%20having%20someone%20see%20you%20at%20your%20most%20raw%20and%20still%20take%20such%20good%20care%20of%20you%20that%20really%20leaves%20a%20mark.%20My%20nurses%20were%20so%20amazing.%20Ben%20and%20I%20fondly%20refer%20to%20our%20stay%20at%20the%20hospital%20as%20our%20trip%20to%20the%20%E2%80%9Cbaby%20spa.%E2%80%9D%20:)%20Minus%20the%20whole%20birthing%20process,%20of%20course.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWe%E2%80%99ve%20got%20a%20bonafide%20goofball%20on%20our%20hands!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20Lincoln%E2%80%99s%20as%20happy%20as%20a%20lark%20at%20home%20with%20Ben%20and%20me,%20it%20takes%20him%20awhile%20to%20warm%20up%20to%20new%20places%20in%20particular.%20Not%20so%20much%20people,%20he%E2%80%99ll%20let%20anyone%20hold%20him,%20but%20when%20he%E2%80%99s%20out%20of%20his%20element%20he%E2%80%99s%20very%20quiet.%20At%20home?%20Total%20nut%20job.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBen%20and%20I%20truly%20feel%20like%20we%20hit%20the%20lottery%20with%20our%20sweet,%20happy%20little%20man.%20Of%20course%20parenthood%20is%20difficult%20%E2%80%93%20it%E2%80%99s%20not%20about%20you%20anymore%20%E2%80%93%20but%20these%20tiny%20little%20miracles%20are%20just%20that,%20miracles.%20Next%20on%20the%20agenda?%20Planning%20his%20first%20birthday%20party%20%E2%80%93%20gulp!%20As%20everyone%20says,%20they%20sure%20grow%20up%20fast!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELittle%20Green%20Pouch%20Giveaway%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%E2%80%99ve%20got%20a%20followup%20giveaway%20to%20my%20post%20about%20making%20homemade%20baby%20food%20%E2%80%93%20a%20Little%20Green%20Pouch%20giveaway!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELittle%20Green%20Pouches%20are%20durable,%20reusable%20food%20pouches%20that%20are%20BPA-free,%20PVC-free%20&%20phthalate-free,%20as%20well%20as%20dishwasher%20safe,%20and%20freezer-friendly.%20Translation:%20they%E2%80%99re%20super%20safe%20food%20pouches%20for%20kids%20and%20babies%20that%20you%20can%20fill%20with%20your%20own%20purees%20and%20use%20either%20at%20home%20or%20on%20the%20go.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20like%20Little%20Green%20Pouches%20because%20I%20can%20easily%20transport%20food%20from%20home%20if%20we%E2%80%99re%20going%20to%20be%20out%20at%20meal%20times,%20and%20I%20know%20exactly%20what%20I%E2%80%99m%20putting%20in%20them.%20Even%20some%20of%20the%20organic%20food%20pouches%20at%20the%20grocery%20store%20have%20added%20preservatives%20and%20sugar.%20Dislike!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPlus,%20now%20that%20Lincoln%20prefers%20solids%20to%20purees,%20he%E2%80%99s%20getting%20a%20little%20divo-ish%20about%20being%20spoon%20fed.%20Offer%20him%20a%20Little%20Green%20Pouch%20however%20and%20he%E2%80%99ll%20suck%20the%20food%20right%20down.%20He%20thinks%20it%E2%80%99s%20absolutely%20hilarious%20to%20get%20food%20squirted%20in%20his%20mouth%20versus%20on%20a%20spoon.%20Sheesh!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnyway,%20Little%20Green%20Pouch%20has%20graciously%20offered%20to%20send%20one%20IGE%20reader%20a%20Little%20Green%20Pouch%20Large%20Starter%20Kit%20filled%20with%204%20pouches,%20a
