  1. 1. Wash mushrooms and trim; chop caps and stems. (There will be about 51/2 c..)
  2. 2. Trim onions and slice. (There will be about 6 c..)
  3. 3. Saute/fry mushrooms and onions in butter in a large frying pan 10 min,or possibly just till wilted. Pour over bread crumbs in a large bowl; sprinklewith salt; toss lightly till proportionately moist.
  4. Makes approximately 10 c. or possibly sufficient to stuff a 12-lb. bird.
