Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening (part softened butter)
  • 1 egg, beaten in c.
  • Measure lowfat milk added to egg to 1 c. level

Directions

  1. Mix sugar, flour, baking pwdr and salt. Cut in shortening as for pie. Stir in lowfat milk and egg, just slightly, sufficient to wet all dry ingredients. Pour or possibly spoon batter into jelly roll pan in individual cakes or possibly into 9 x 9 inch pan.
  2. Bake at 350 degrees for 18 to 20 min or possibly till lightly brown. Split and spoon sweetened strawberries over.
