Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp granulated gelatin
  • 1 Tbsp. cool water
  • 1/4 c. boiling water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c. tomato juice
  • 1/4 c. white vinegar
  • 1/8 tsp garlic pwdr
  •     (or possibly 1 garlic clove, crushed)
  • 1 dsh freshly-grnd black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  •     Sugar substitute equal to 1 tbspn sugar

Directions

  1. Soften gelatin in cool water. Add in boiling water; stir till dissolved. Turn into a pint jar with all the remaining ingredients.
  2. Cover tightly; shake thoroughly. Refrigeratefor a few hrs before serving. Stir occasionally to prevent gelling at bottom. Shake gently before using.
  3. This recipe yields 8 servings.
  4. Serving size: 1 to 2 Tbsp..
  5. Comments: The miracle is which this delicious dressing is fat-free and won't use up your Fat Exchanges. Try it as a marinade for flank steak before grilling.
  6. Note: Low-sodium diets: Omit salt. Substitute unsalted tomato juice.
