Mexican Sopapillas

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 c. cool water
  • 2 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 2 tbsp. shortening

Directions

  1. Sift flour, baking pwdr and salt in bowl. Cut in shortening. Add in water. Mix to hold together. Knead till smooth. Let rise 5 min. Roll out smooth and thin. Cut into squares. Deep fry. Sprinkle while still warm. Drizzle with hot honey.
