Ingredients
- Mega Chocolate Sourdough Brownies with Turkey Bacon~
- 300 g bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 226 grams unsalted butter, cut into pieces (about 2 sticks)
- 200 grams sugar
- 6 grams (1 tsp) salt
- 8.4 grams (2 tsp) vanilla extract
- 3 whole eggs, room temperature
- 40 grams cocoa power
- 220 grams mature 100 % hydration sourdough starter
- 1/2 cup finely diced, cooked Turkey Bacon ( I used Jennie-O)
- Sprinkle with 1/2 cup diced cooked Turkey bacon

%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhy%20did%20I%20add%20turkey%20bacon%20to%20the%20brownie%20recipe%20you%20ask?%20Well,%20%20I%20was%20making%20myself%20a%20salad%20for%20lunch%20and%20while%20I%20was%20making%20my%20salad%20I%20remembered%20that%20the%20Sourdough%20Surprises%20Challenge%20was%20coming%20up.%20I%20knew%20the%20challenge%20was%20to%20make%20Brownies~%20When%20I%20finished%20my%20salad%20and%20went%20back%20into%20the%20kitchen%20to%20clean%20up,%20I%20saw%20the%20baggie%20that%20had%20about%201/2%20cup%20of%20leftover%20diced%20turkey%20bacon%20in%20it.%20I%20thought%20about%20throwing%20it%20away,%20and%20then%20I%20thought%20about%20giving%20it%20to%20my%203%20pugs,%20since%20they%20were%20staring%20at%20me,%20drooling%20and%20then%20I%20thought,%20what%20the%20heck,%20I'm%20throwing%20it%20into%20the%20brownie%20batter!%20It%20certainly%20wasn't%20going%20to%20ruin%20them:)%20They%20turned%20out%20Great~%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20325%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELightly%20grease%20a%2013%20x%209%20glass%20baking%20dish%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20medium%20saucepan,%20melt%20the%20chocolate%20and%20butter.%20Stir%20often%20so%20it%20does%20not%20burn.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20the%20melted%20chocolate/butter%20mixture%20into%20a%20large%20glass%20bowl.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhisk%20in%20the%20sugar,%20salt%20and%20vanilla%20extract.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20the%20eggs,%20one%20at%20a%20time,%20whisking%20to%20combine%20after%20each%20addition%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESift%20the%20cocoa%20powder%20over%20the%20chocolate%20and%20stir%20to%20combine.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20the%20starter%20and%20stir%20gently%20until%20it%20is%20completely%20incorporated%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20batter%20into%20prepared%20baking%20dish%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESprinkle%20with%201/2%20cup%20diced%20cooked%20Turkey%20bacon%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBake%20about%2040%20mins%20or%20until%20toothpick%20inserted%20near%20the%20middle%20comes%20out%20clean.%20Cool%20in%20pan%2020%20mins%20and%20Dig%20In~%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMay%20is%20Salad%20month!%20Celebrate%20Salad%20Month%20with%20the%20Green%20Leaf%20&%20Bananas%20iPad%20Giveaway!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
