Ingredients

  • 1 lb Beef, grnd
  • 2 Tbsp. Butter
  • 1 x Egg, well beaten
  • 1 x Lemon, juice of
  • 1 tsp Parsley, chopped
  • 1 x Salt & pepper
  • 1/3 c. Rice, uncooked
  • 1 x Onion, finely sliced
  • 1 c. Tomato soup
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 c. Celery, minced
  • 6 x Cabbage leaves

Directions

  1. Season the hamburger well with salt and pepper and add in the egg. Mix well.
  2. Fold in rice. To make sauce, heat the butter and add in the tomato soup and an equal amount of water and add in to onion. Add in the parsley, celery, lemon juice, sugar, salt and pepper, and cook for 10 min. Wash the cabbage leaves and boil till tender. Put 2 Tbsp of meat mix in each leaf and roll tightly. Secure each roll with a toothpick. Place in a saucepan and pour sauce over rolls. Cover pan tightly and cook slowly for 3 hrs. Serve very warm.
