Maharashtrian Masale Bhat is very special Rice Dish in Maharashtrian Marriages and many of the ceremonies. Masale Bhat tastes very nice with Jilebi.

Directions

  1. 1.Wash Rice with water and soak it for 15 minutes.
  2. 2.heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, coriander seeds, bay leaves, cinnamon stick ,cloves, mustard seeds and curry leaves with a pinch of hing. Sauté for a while.
  3. 3.Then add onion and sauté till it becomes translucent. Add ginger garlic paste. Mix it well.
  4. 4.Add turmeric powder, red chili powder and peanuts. Saute till everything get a nice mix.
  5. 5.Add rice ,potato, salt and goda masala. Pour sufficient warm water and let it boil for 10 minutes.
  6. 6.After all the water is soaked into rice, reduce the gas to low heat and let it cook for again 5-7 minutes.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves or mint leaves.Serve 'Maharastrian Masale Bhat' with Curd or Raita.
